Jason Hernandez was first introduced into the restaurant industry in 2004, working at a local Country Club, and it didn’t take long for him to discover that his passion was in the Food and Beverage Industry. He successfully worked his way up through every position imaginable, from dishwasher to Front of the House Manager to Executive Chef. He is a true Jack of all Trades and appreciates every aspect of operations and the people who facilitate it. Through his operational knowledge and growth, Jason developed a passion for leadership as well.
Later on, he was employed at RusTeak Restaurant & Wine Bar, and as Sous Chef, mentored under two Owner Graduates of the Culinary Institute of America. At RusTeak, Jason was able to fine-tune his culinary skills and expand his creativity through the understanding of spirits and fine wines. From there, Jason went on to accept the position of Executive Chef at a Blue Star Resort property in Orlando, where he oversaw the catering and events facility along with their centerpiece restaurant. He was also responsible for the weekly cooking demonstrations and special Chef’s Table events for the members.
In 2016, Jason joined the NDM Hospitality team as the Food & Beverage Director for their flagship resort, Encore Resort at Reunion. From day one, he has valued the company’s dedication to their guests and brought that into the resort’s F&B realm as well.
In 2019, he joined the Corporate Team, overseeing all aspects of Food and Beverage for the resort brand. He heavily focuses on the oversight of company and brand standards, company partnerships, and leadership development. Jason continues to foster a passion for excellence across all Rentyl Resorts brands, with the goal of making the company the number one vacation and dining choice for vacationers around the world
